Commitment to smart meter reading: Telit presents brand new, energy efficient, Wireless M-Bus module for 169 MHz

In October the ME50-169 module, complaint to the latest Wireless M-Bus standard was launched. It features 169 MHz and hence is ideally suited for smart gas, water, heating or electricity meters. Compared to 868 or even 433 MHz, 169 MHz provides a much higher per-formance in terms of range. Wireless M-Bus is a standardized transfer technology for the radio remote reading of meters inside buildings. The ME50-169 modules are fully compatible to Telit's gateway solution, the GG863-SR, which integrates Short Range and GSM/GPRS capabilities. The M-Bus modules with LGA (Land Grid Array) mounting technology are the first product releases in the market with 25 mW output power which assure extreme low power consumption - therewith ideally meeting smart metering power consumption requirements. New benchmark in satellite navigation: Telit launches ultra-compact standalone A-GPS module

Telit recently launched the SE868 and SL868, two state-of-the-art 48-channel standalone A-GPS modules for Telit GSM/GPRS modules. They both stand out through high sensitivity, extremely low power consumption and extended ephemeris injection for fastest TTFF (Time To First Fix). The target markets are size-critical positioning applications, tracking and tracing solutions as well as wireless/GPS combo applications that require an extremely quick fix (< 2 seconds). In contrast to host-based GPS modules, the standalone modules work independently from a GSM module or application microprocessor.
